Crescent Moon and Venus
These two photos were taken Monday night, February 19, 2007 just after sunset. The sky was darker than usual because of cloud cover. At the top is the crescent moon; the dot at the bottom is the planet Venus. To the naked eye, the view was quite good -- Venus was very bright.
These photos were made with a simple point-and-shoot digital camera -- a Sony DCS-P93 zoomed out to its maximum zoom
